The Six Nations is coming and we’ve got some trophy-worthy themed coffee recipes for you to try at home with our Rugby Six Pack

Coffee and rugby?

Our director of coffee is a very passionate rugby fan. So we gave him a tough task: source six fantastic coffees for six teams with hints of the countries’ signature desserts. He’s smashed the brief.

Below (and with your coffees) you’ll find recipes to enhance the natural flavours of them even more, no matter who you’re rooting for.

A very English strawberries and cream coffee

Make your coffee taste like strawberries and cream using the wonderful natural flavours of speciality coffee, plus a splash of luxury. This coffee uses Zapote Natural. Brew it as a long black with a dash of cream or whole milk to make the flavours really sing.

It’s a bit grey out this rugby season, so if you’re supporting England in the six nations it’s a great one to sip on and think about Summer.

Welsh cake macchiato, anyone?

Our Casa Loma has notes of sugar-dusted, curranty Welsh cakes which are best complemented by a macchiato.

Firstly, make your espresso. Then you steam and froth your milk of choice. It’s best to froth whole milk for its high fat content but if you’re going dairy free, the best milk to use is a barista edition oat milk. Remember to steam it first before frothing, or warm it up on the stovetop if you don’t have a steamer.

Then spoon off the foam on top and put it on top of the espresso.

A biscuity shortbread coffee for Scotland

Our Terras Altas celebrates the Scottish rugby team with its hints of millionaire’s shortbread.

Making filter coffee can feel a bit routine, so why not put an indulgent twist on it for the tournament ahead? Simply add a dash of condensed milk and you’re good to go.

These recipes are best enjoyed with our special edition Rugby Six Pack.

Make your coffee Irish

Okay, maybe this isn’t strictly a dessert, but it’s certainly a treaty coffee to enjoy. San Jeronimo, our coffee of choice for Ireland, has hints of Irish coffee which can be enhanced even further by making just that. What better way to celebrate the team leading the pack?

Use your favourite Irish whiskey and add cream on top. Treat yourself.

A French inspired treat that inspires an “ooh la la”

Sitio de Jaja doesn’t sound very French but it sure does taste it with its natural hints of crème brûlée. Ditch the syrups and keep it simple, because all you need is a dash of milk to make this taste like a dessert in a cup. Effortlessly beautiful, what could be more French?

Victory is sweet, just like this coffee. But will they retain the crown?

A dreamy tiramisù coffee for Italy

This recipe is like a special secret menu item you’d get in a café, but we’re not keeping it a secret because it is so dolce.

Using our Chapada which has hints of tiramisù, brew with your method of choice.

Now for the dessert part - pour it into a heatproof glass until it’s half full. Then add a tablespoon of Amaretto, or Amaretto syrup if you’re not drinking alcohol. After that, add a tablespoon of chocolate sauce, or more than a tablespoon if you have a sweet tooth. Mix it all up and then add whatever milk you want until the glass is almost full. Now you’re ready to add whipped cream and a sprinkle of cocoa powder.

Serve with two or maybe five biscotti.

Which coffee would you give the trophy? Our Rugby Six Pack coffees are all winners in our eyes. Grab it before it’s gone.
