Iced coffee recipes for every brew tool

You can enjoy iced coffee without heading to the high street - no matter what coffee brewing tools you’ve got at home. Just make sure to fill up your ice cube trays, stock up on a few bags of fresh Pact Coffee, and settle in for a summer of caffeinated refreshment - simple!

We’ve got four foolproof iced coffee recipes for a range of different brewing methods, including cafetière, AeroPress, V60, and espresso machine.

Iced Coffee Cafetiere Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 220ml water, boiled
  • Ice cubes
  • 40g coarsely ground coffee
  • Semi-skimmed milk (optional)

Method:

  • Rinse your cafetière with hot water to warm it up. 
  • Add your ground coffee to the cafetière.
  • Pour over the boiling water and give it a stir to ensure the coffee is saturated. Don’t put the plunger on yet!
  • Set a timer for 3.5 minutes. 
  • Meanwhile, add your ice to two glasses.
  • When the timer is up, put the plunger on, wait another 30 seconds, then gently press all the way down.
  • Pour the coffee very slowly over the ice cubes, a little at a time.
  • Add milk if you fancy it, and stir well.

Iced Coffee V60 Recipe

Ingredients:

  • One scoop of medium-ground coffee (per person)
  • Ice cubes
  • Semi-skimmed milk (optional)

Method:

  • Boil a kettle and then leave it to rest for a minute.
  • Half-fill a glass with ice cubes.
  • Place the filter paper into your V60 and rinse with hot water.
  • Place your V60 on top of the glass and add one scoop of medium-ground coffee.
  • Pour hot water over the grounds in a circular movement.
  • Allow to bloom for 30 seconds and then gradually add enough water to fill your glass.
  • Add milk, if you like, and enjoy!

Iced Coffee AeroPress Recipe

Ingredients:

  • One scoop of medium-ground coffee (per person)
  • Ice cubes
  • Semi-skimmed milk (optional)

Method:

  • Boil a kettle and then leave it to rest for a minute.
  • Fill a glass half-way with ice.
  • Insert the plunger (the inner chamber of your AeroPress) into the outer tube, so the black seal is in line with the number 4. 
  • Stand it on end, so the 4 is closest to the table.
  • Add in a scoop (approx. 16g) of medium-fine ground coffee.
  • Fill the tube with hot water, stir, and leave for one minute.
  • Place a filter into the holder and rinse with hot water.
  • Screw the holder into your AeroPress.
  • Carefully flip the whole stack onto your glass of ice.
  • Depress the plunger to fill the ice-filled cup, and enjoy!

Iced Coffee Espresso Machine Recipe

Ingredients

  • 14-18g finely ground coffee
  • Ice cubes
  • Sugar (optional)
  • Semi-skimmed milk (optional)

Method

  • Fill a glass halfway with ice.
  • Place the coffee in your portafilter and gently use the tamper to push down.
  • Place the portafilter in the espresso machine‘s group head.
  • Choose the option on your machine for a double espresso shot.
  • Melt a teaspoon of sugar into the coffee - adjust to your tastes.
  • Pour the coffee over the ice.
  • Top up with milk (if you like) and stir.
  • Enjoy!
